"Burden Free Training". This is my goal for every athlete that I am privileged to coach, that they would be free to enjoy training, trust the plan, and continue to prioritize life in a healthy way. Once we determine your goal alongside your current fitness, it is my job to then create reasonable benchmarks and schedule your time efficiently. I see coaching as an opportunity to be your resource and your expert in running, cycling, swimming, strength training, nutrition, and healthy, balanced living!
James' triathlon journey began in 2008. As a competitive golfer and runner throughout school, he wanted to keep that fire for competition alive. Without organized training, and on rather old equipment, James barely completed his first sprint distance that year! After taking the next year to conquer the sprint distance, he continued on to attempt his first Half Ironman in 2010 at Buffalo Springs. It took nearly seven and a half hours to complete (that's a long day!) and with little knowledge at the time about nutritional needs for a 70.3 distance, is still surprised today that he finished at all! Today, James has gone on to compete well at the 2015 Ironman Texas (13:24 Finish Time) and over 40 Triathlon and Run events all over the nation.
Coach James has coached athletes to complete Ironman Texas, Ironman Boulder, Ironman Louisville, Ironman Florida, Ironman Arizona, Galveston 70.3, New Orleans 70.3, Buffalo Springs 70.3, Boulder 70.3, Silverman 70.3, Austin 70.3, Redman Half Iron, as well as many local Sprint and Olympic distance events.
