Coach Alix: Fueling for a Long Hard Run

Running is the hardest thing on the body that we, as triathletes, do on a regular basis; especially those training for long course races. Recovery is vital! One suggestion I always give to my clients who are running longer than 1 hour, especially if the run has any intensity/intervals involved - take 1 serving of MAP Amino Acids 15 minutes prior to the run (I have them do this prior to EVERY workout...) and at the halfway or 1 hour mark of the run, take another serving of MAP Amino Acids (these can be taken on an empty stomach or simultaneously with nutrition...) 
Amino Acids are the building blocks for protein and what feeds our recovery. 

Especially during longer and harder workouts, amino acids will help prevent muscle breakdown!
