Playtri Festival Swim Update

PLAYTRI TRIATHLON FESTIVAL UPDATE: We have received an update from the city. There has been an untreated sanitary sewer spill into Lake Carolyn due to the recent flooding that will not be able to be fixed until water levels subside sufficiently and that will not be before this weekend.

We will go forward with a duathlon format: run-bike-run with the following distances:

International distance: 5k run (2 loops) - 22 mile bike (3 loops) - 10k run (4 loops)
Sprint distance: 1.55mi run (1 loop) - 14.5 mile bike (2 loops) - 5k run (2 loops)
Super Sprint distance: 0.75 mi (1/2 loop) - 7.25 mile bike (1 loop) - 1.55 mile run

Saturday's F1: 1.5k run - 10k bike - 1k run
Saturday's Elite: 5k run - 20k bike - 2.5k run

We understand that some of you may be disappointed and frustrated by the change as are we. We are triathletes too and strive to have a great event, but athlete safety has to be our first priority. We are still very excited about the event we have planned for you with great prizes, compression awards from 2XU and more!

As stated on the Playtri Triathlon Festival race website, www.playtri.com/pftriathlons, we have a no refund no transfer policy and reserve the right to make race changes for safety of the athlete. At this time, this change is being made for the safety of the athlete and we appreciate your understanding. We look forward to seeing you this weekend.

Thank you,
Playtri Race Team
