Stonebridge Ranch Triathlons (September 24 & 25, 2016)
We had a blast at our final races of the season, despite some wild weather during the Super Sprint and Sprint distance events on Sunday! Saturday saw over 30 Lions at the Stonebridge Ranch Kids Triathlon, which we followed with our Team End-of-Season Party at the Stonebridge Beach Club - thank you to all of the parents who volunteered to make it a fun event for the kids. On Sunday we had athletes in both the Super Sprint and Sprint distance events, and saw a lot of PR finishes despite the rain. A great way to wrap up the season. Roar Lions!
Little Buggy Youth Triathlon (September 5, 2016)
Over 20 Team Playtri Lions raced the Little Buggy Kids Tri this Labor Day, getting up extra early for a 5:15 transition check-in and 6:45 race start. We had multiple first-time triathlon finishers and lots of podiums. Athletes raced well and had fun - hard to believe the season is almost over, but all those months of work sure showed this morning!
USA Triathlon Sprint National Championship (August 15, 2016)
Team Playtri Lions Ulrika Brameus, Ali Sadek and Devin Williams competed in the USAT Sprint Age Group National Championship this past weekend in Omaha, Nebraska - the first time for all them competing at the National level in a Sprint distance event. All three athletes did a great job and learned valuable lessons for the coming Junior Elite season! Roar Lions!
What's a "Sprint distance" race?
750m Swim/20k Bike/5k Run
Cooper Kids Tri (August 6, 2016)
23 Lions representing Team Playtri at the Cooper Kids Tri this Saturday! We got to see a lot of athletes PR and generally have really successful race days, which is just a demonstration of the work they've put in over the summer months. We're so proud of all of them! A special thank you to all the parents and athletes who volunteered. Roar Lions!

Over 20 Playtri Lions raced the Cooper Kids Triathlon this Saturday, bringing home 27 finishes, 7 podiums in the 11-15 categories and 2 podiums in the 9-10 category. However, the highlight of the morning was definitely the giant water slide! Thank you everyone for a great race. Go Lions!
USAT Monroe Youth Elite Cup Races (June 18, 2016)
Congratulations to the Team Playtri Elite Lions who competed in the USA Triathlon Youth Elite Cup Races in Monroe this past weekend! Some good Pacific North West weather came through race morning creating slippery conditions, but our athletes still got the job done - phenomenal performances from all three. Ulrika Brameus jumped back into the draft-legal racing scene not even two weeks after a race-ending bike wreck in Pleasant Prairie with a solid performance, Jackson Hall made major strides on his swim and bike after his first Cup two weeks ago in Monroe doing a great job executing his race strategy, and Matthew Beltran put it together for his first top-10 finish at a Cup race with 6th place.
After the Cup races ended, we teamed up with T3 Multisports to bring home 8th place in the Mixed Team Relay. It was a lot of fun seeing their hard work pay off on a national stage!
Ice Cream Crank Off 5K and 1K Runs (June 11, 2016)
What better way to kick off the summer than by running for ice cream? Lions had to work hard at this race, though, with a difficult combination of hills and humidity to push through. A great mental toughness training day for those who competed!
USAT Pleasant Prairie Cup Races (June 5, 2016)
Five Team Playtri Elite athletes traveled to Pleasant Prairie, WI for the second stop in the 2016 USA Triathlon Junior Elite Series. Athletes raced well - Matthew Beltran secured 24th in the YE men's race with a top ten swim, Asher Lauderdale finished 30th for his first Cup race, Jackson Hall finished 54th, also for his first Cup race, and Ulrika Brameus was having a strong opener for her season, but unfortunately was derailed by a crash in her bike pack. She was unable to finish, but is doing fine and plans to race again at the Monroe Cup in two weeks. Maddy Beltran was the 9th overall female in the youth age group race.
WaterWorks Sprint and Splash N' Dash (May 22, 2016)
Lions had an extra fun race at the WaterWorks Sprint and Splash n' Dash, starting their races with a ride down one of WaterWorks giant waterslides!
