Youth & Junior Coaches and Staff

meet our awesome team!

Our coaches and staff are passionate about youth and juniors in triathlon! We come from varied backgrounds, but our end goal is the same - to see young athletes have the best possible experience in our favorite sport, whether their goal is health and fitness, or elite international competition.

Coach Morgan is the founder and head coach of Playtri Youth & Juniors.  Morgan grew up swimming and running, and discovered triathlon in college, where she was a member of the University of North Texas Triathlon Club Team. She went on to co-found the North Texas Tri Team (one of the first youth triathlon programs in the North Texas area) with Coach Sean Thompson in 2009, then moved to Playtri in 2010 as a coach and race production assistant.

coach morgan davis

Rockwall Youth  Programs Coach

My name is Morgan Davis.  I was born and raised in Charlotte, NC where I competed in swimming since the age of 8. I swam 4 years Division I at Virginia Tech as a sprint freestyler.  I then ran track and field as my 5th year of edibility at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte while getting a Master’s Degree in Education.

I taught 4th and 5th grade for the past four years and while teaching I was still able to continue my true love of coaching. I coached summer league swim teams, swim camps, high school swim team and was the Co-founder for Chicks with Kicks (a running club for girls ages 8-10).

My personal accomplishments in triathlon include finishing in the top 5 in my age group in 8 half IRONMANs, I finished 6th at Ironman Louisville in 2013, won my age group at IRONMAN Florida 2015 qualifying for the 2016 IRONMAN World Championships in Kona, HI. I finished 30th in my age group at Worlds.

My goal is to help others balance their personal and professional lives while maintaining a healthy fulfilling life in the world of triathlon.
