Beth developed a passion for physical training at an early age when she was mauled by a dog. The rehabilitation process helped her gain valuable knowledge in the area of functional strength training. Although doctors were unsure if she would regain the ability to walk, Beth’s drive to overcome her sudden loss of muscle mass allowed her to return to competitive swimming within a few months of the injury. Her background as a competitive swimmer was a huge benefit during this period due to the low-impact nature of swimming. Beth had the opportunity to swim for the University of Pittsburgh throughout all four years of her college career and was introduced to the sport of triathlon right after the completion of her swimming career. Her goal was to find a fun way to continue training. The workout variety that’s required for triathlon training was a welcome change after years of following a black line on the bottom of a swimming pool! Beth completed her first Iron Man in 2014 at the Lake Placid Iron Man.
Beth has an extensive background in coaching athletes of all ages and ability levels. Her strength as a coach and personal trainer is her ability to simplify complex ideas to help athletes understand and achieve their goals as quickly as possible. Her understanding of body mechanics enables her to customize workouts based on the needs and abilities of each athlete. Beth recently moved to Dallas from Pennsylvania where she worked as an in-home personal trainer and private swim coach. She has written several articles for triathlon newsletters and is driven by the results she’s able to help others achieve. Beth has also served as a consultant for swim teams and swim lesson programs who are looking to improve the results of their swimmers.
