USAT South Midwest Regional Youth Race Series
The South Midwest Region (AR/LA/OK/TX) features one of America’s only youth triathlon race series for young people 7-15 years of age. Divided into age groups (7-8; 9-10; 11-12; 13-15) and male/female gender divisions, kids are able to compete against their peers in search of a South Midwest (SMW) Regional Youth Race Series Championship.
This year’s series features 9 races culminating in a double points, SMW Youth Regional Championship, event. Individual points are scored through placement in each event entered, the more events undertaken the greater chance for garnering points. At the end of the season, total points are calculated and the top 3 per age group are identified as Youth Regional Champions, receive an award and certificate to honor their accomplishment.
Youth races within the series are directed by independent Race Directors who develop their respective event to parallel USAT recommended race distances, age groups, and closely follow USAT Youth Supplemental Rules.
