“My very first triathlon was an unforgettable experience. Early on the bike, another rider swerved into me and sent me crashing—leaving me with some pretty gnarly road rash, bruises, and a bike that was out for about 10 minutes before I could get her rolling again.
I’m so proud that I stayed composed, got back up, and finished strong through the bike and run. I still beat my goal time—even with the crash—which makes me equal parts proud and a little curious what could’ve been without those extra 10 minutes.
Grateful for the resilience to keep going, the mindset to problem-solve mid-race, and most of all, that I walked away without any serious injuries.
And even more grateful for a friend like Stephen Levall, who stayed after finishing his own race to cheer me on all the way to the finish line.”
