Hays 14th Annual Spooktacular 5K and Fun Run

Mission

Hays PTA represents Celia Hays Elementary School in Rockwall, TX.  We support students, teachers, and parents in the school and our community.
While encouraging faculty, students, and families to develop a healthy, active lifestyle and set goals for themselves, we are also raising money to provide additional tools to enhance and enrich learning in the classrooms. Visit our website here. This event helps raise funds that go directly back to our students. Some examples of how the funds are used are scholarships for our 5th grade students to go to camp, innovative technology, classroom enrichment programs and supplies to extend the learning experience in the classroom.

Shirts will be delivered to all students and staff at the school the week of the event. Shirt pick up for other participants is TBD.

T-shirt sizes available, YXS, YS, YM, YL, YXL, AS, AM, AL, AXL, AXXL, AXXXL

Crusade Virtual 5K, 10K and 1K Fun Run

Thank you for registering for the upcoming Crusade Run 5K, 10K and 1K Fun Run.  Your support, as a participant in this event, allows Carson’s Crusaders Foundation to help children and families right here in North Texas that are battling childhood cancer.

Due to the current circumstances surrounding large events have forced us to go virtual. We hope you will join us and keep our mission going!

OUR MISSION IS NOT CANCELLED

Carson Thomas Richardson was born an amazing blessing to his mom, dad, big brother, and all those who awaited his arrival.  He was a beautiful baby boy, always happy, always sweet.  Carson grew and developed as most children.  He loved to laugh, play ball, push cars, and be a typical little boy.  Life in the Richardson home was happy and wonderful.

When Carson was 3 ½ he began experiencing stomach aches, tiredness, and night sweats.  After going to the doctor and running tests a phone call came at 9pm on a Monday night in August.  The doctor said they found tumors and that they needed to wake Carson up and immediately take him to Medical City, an oncologist would be waiting for them.  After a CT scan and biopsy it was confirmed that Carson had Stage IV Hepatoblastoma, one of the rarest forms of pediatric cancer.

Carson’s Crusaders Foundation was established as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in late 2011.  Since that time we have been committed to developing programs and services to help children diagnosed with solid tumor cancers and their families. To date, we have fulfilled more than 1,200 requests for transportation assistance and spent over $75,000 on our Sibling Superstar programs.

Fighting Autoimmunity 5K and 1M Virtual Event 2020

Thank you for participating in our 2020 Virtual Fighting Autoimmunity 5K! We are honored you chose to support our 501c3. Profits from this event will be directed to two organizations that continue the fight with Autoimmune Disease: CONQUER at UT-Southwestern, which focuses on research and further treatments for various AI diseases, and CAP, the Children's Alopecia Project which sends families with Alopecia to surf camp. Over the past five years, we have donated over $83,000 to these two organizations!

Autoimmune Disease affects more than 50 million Americans according to the National Institutes of Health (NIH), and that number is rising. Researchers have identified 80-100 different autoimmune diseases and suspect at least 40 additional diseases of having an autoimmune basis. These chronic diseases affect the immune system's ability to recognize foreign cells, so it attacks normal, healthy cells (referred to as Autoimmunity). Source: American Autoimmune Related Diseases Association (AARDA). Please visit our website: https://www.fightingai.com/.

With the recent COVID-19 Pandemic and restrictions for group activities, we felt a virtual event was the safest methodology due to the high-risk category for many of our family members/friends who suffer from Autoimmune Disease.

Thank you for helping us continue the fight!

HOW IT WORKS

Sign up for the race and print your bib (optional). Invite family and friends and brag on social media. Get ready to run, hydrate, stay strong and healthy!

THE RUN

Complete your distance (5K or 1M) during the Labor Day Weekend starting Friday 9/4 - Mon 9/7. Invite family and friends to do that same. Have fun, be safe and keep track of time, of course!

There also will be a link to print your Finisher's certificate on that same page. Results may be submitted until Monday 11:59 PM.

Austin Ranch Against Cancer 5K and 1 Mile Run

Austin Ranch Against Cancer 5K and 1 Mile Run

At 21 years old, you would never think a strong, faithful young man like Zach Wakefield would encounter a challenge like this.

Zach had been suffering from debilitating back pain, that at first, was considered to be sciatica for the past year. This year, April 11, 2019 Zach finally had an MRI done and thats when we heard that one word no one wants to hear — “cancer”.....

After many labs and tests its confirmed that Zach has classic Hodgkins Lymphoma Stage 4B. The road that lays ahead for him consists of 12 rounds of chemo every 2 weeks then radiation to target the mass in his hip.

As his mom, Tracy, said “Zach now needs to settle into a “new normal” way of life. The Doctors call this a “Stage 4”, but, his Dad, Junior, calls it “the beginning to an incredible testimony”.

The new journey for Zach will be tough and tiring as he goes thru his treatments. Zach is strong and has the heart of a champion and with the strength and faith of all his loved ones he does not have to go on this journey alone.

The goal for The Austin Ranch Against Cancer 5K is to help Zach with any medical/financial debt he will endure.

We will have games, a beer garden, food, prizes, raffles, live music and more. Not only will you have the opportunity to have an amazing time with the 5K and after race festivities, but you'll be able to make a HUGE impact for this AMAZING family! So come out and support.

On behalf of Zach and his family we thank you all in advance.

We love you Zach! Keep fighting! #TeamZach #ARAC2019

Fight Like a Kid 5K and Kids Fun Run

The 1st Annual GOING GOLD 5K benefiting the Children’s Cancer Fund is scheduled for Saturday, September 28th, 2019 from 8:00 am to 11:00 pm! The race will kick off at the Woodcreek Clubhouse located at 100 Woodcreek Blvd. in Fate, TX. Get registered by September 13th to get a guaranteed t-shirt. Registration is $25 for the timed race, and $10 for the kid run. All proceeds will go directly to the Children’s Cancer Fund. Find out more about this incredible cause by visiting childrenscancerfund.com .

Every two minutes a child is diagnosed with cancer. On average 2,000 children in the US will lose their battle each year. Scientists receive more funding from private parties than they do from the National Cancer Institute. One of the best ways to help these children is to support foundations that fund research. The Children’s Cancer Fund is an incredible foundation that gives a notable amount to children’s hospitals in the Dallas metroplex.

Compete Every Day® LLC (http://www.competeeveryday.com/) is a lifestyle brand created to remind you that life is worth fighting for, and reignite the competitive fire already within you necessary to achieve life's victories.

Competing every day isn’t about what you do in the gym or a workout. It’s about taking control of your life and refusing to let fear hinder you from the goals you seek to accomplish and the people you desire to adventure through life alongside. It’s about finding the strength within to face the unknown, the courage to stare fear in the eye, and the determination to find a way to move forward. Every single day you live on this earth.

Autoimmune Disease affects more than 23 million Americans according to the National Institutes of Health (NIH), and that number is rising. Researchers have identified 80-100 different autoimmune diseases and suspect at least 40 additional diseases of having an autoimmune basis. These chronic diseases affect the immune system's ability to recognize foreign cells, so it attacks normal, healthy cells (referred to as Autoimmunity).
